OCTOSWITCH

OCTOSWITCH is a modular board with 8 tactile buttons and a 74HC165 Shift-Register ready to use! It was designed to make it as quick as possible to add 8 buttons to your MIDI Controller with ease of mounting, tho it can be used for any project where 8+ buttons are needed.

OCTOSWITCH uses a 74HC165 (same used for MUXIN-16) requiring only 3 digital pins from your Arduino compatible board. OCTOSWITCH is chainable, you can connect as many as your MCU can handle, you can solder OCTOSWITCH directly to another OCTOSWITCH board or use a JST SH 5-pin cable to easily link multiple OCTOSWITCH boards!

OCTOSWITCH is directly compatible with MUXIN-16 so you can chain multiple OCTOSWITCH and MUXIN-16 boards in any order you want.

To mount OCTOSWITCH to your enclosure you will need to drill a total of 12 holes, 8 x 12mm holes and 4 x 3mm holes, mounting screws are included!

OCTOSWITCH also comes with a Cover Plate, the cover plate is designed to cover imperfections during drilling, the cover plate is not required but if one of your holes is a little off and requires you to drill a larger hole, the cover plate will hide that larger hole making your final product look clean and professional!

The JST SH 1mm connector/wire was chosen for it's size and to reduce the amount of wires hanging all over your enclosure, these are not required as you can solder wires between your OCTOSWITCH boards, the SH Cable will make it very easy to add new OCTOSWITCH boards without doing any soldering!
