CORE USB

CORE USB is a USB Type A to USB Type B board that is easily panel mounted, specifically designed for Musicians to use in their Arduino MIDI Controllers! Usually you need to do a square cut in order to mount a USB Jack, however, that can be very difficult for many to do, the alternative? to drill a hole! This is where CORE USB comes in handy, you only need to drill 3 holes, 2 for mounting screws and 1 for the USB Type B jack to fit thru. Won't that lucky ugly??? yes it will! that's why CORE USB comes with a mounting plate that has the square cutout and will cover up the hole you drilled.

CORE USB has a USB Type A jack on one side and a USB Type B on the other side, the USB Type A jack is there so you can plug any USB cable (with a USB Type A end) to your Arduino, Teensy or ESP32, while the Arduino UNO has a USB Type B jack, many others like Teensy and ESP32 have a Micro USB connector, this means that you can use CORE USB for either of those boards!

We chose the large USB Type B because of durability, if you are musician like me, you know that when it comes to packing up your gear you can't always be very careful unplugging things, for this reason i have broken many devices that had Micro USB jacks (including a couple of teensy boards), this is due to Micro USB being SMD, if you pull the cable too hard you can lift the soldered ends and cause issues with your device. The USB Type B jack fixes that as it's a Thru Hole device and can handle more abuse.

I've been using CORE USB on many of my MIDI Controllers and it makes it really easy to get a jack to connect my Teensy boards to a computer or a power supply. 5V and Ground pins directly from USB are provided on the PCB to tap into the USB Power Line.

CORE USB comes fully assembled with a Cover Plate, Drilling Template and 2x M3 screws for mounting.
